The City of Smiles comes to Plaça de Catalunya

A Fairy-tale Plaça Catalunya! Let’s do Christmas.

A fairy tale and a Christmas that feature the same star: Mister Winter, a giant puppet who goes through the city capturing images and sounds to weave long and beautiful stories that are as snug as a pullover! And that are also kept in the Big Book of Small Things.

That’s how weighed down he’ll be when he gets to Plaça Catalunya on 21 December, where he’ll stay until 4 January. Just like in a private Gepetto workshop, Mister Winter will come to life at certain times of day, staged by the Efímer company, that will fascinate young and old. At different times of the day, our character will cross the square to reach the central stage, where he’ll star in a show that will also feature the Big Book of Small Things and where, when night falls, the Twin Fountains will join in with all their light and all their colours.

So, for the whole of Christmas, Plaça Catalunya will become the City of Dreams: with a big boulevard of dreams, a theatre, a bookshop, a sports shop and, a must at this time of year, a toyshop! All sorts of things will happen in these magical places: a wide range of fun, stage and sports activities for the young and very young.
