My friend and I also appreciated that our Segway group was much smaller than the other groups we saw around, which was nice because we effectively had a private tour instead of trying to jostle for space near the guide. It was also a really smart idea to have us meet in the skateboarding park so that we had a good space to learn how to ride the Segway. All in all, very pleased with the experience and it was the highlight of our trip!

They made great recommendations on routes and when the day came they were ready for us in advance. Our guide had many years of experience and we could tell that he truly loved his adopted city, Barcelona. He was easy to understand and engaging. Since we had already seen some of the city he quickly adapted to what we had already seen and our tour still felt seamless. After a 15 minute training tour in a small square you are zipping off around the streets and onto the waterfront and parks with guides who are not too pushy with usual platitudes but give personal insights into life in Barcelona and have a great sense of humour. They allow some freedom for going around the spaces, speak a number of languages and are great with kids. Our guide Pablo seemed to know half of the people in Barcelona and going through the big parks with him was a real treat. You can tailor the times to go but best to book early and if you have been on those big bus tours then some have discount coupons so make sure to keep those.

Tiziana is the operations manager and she responds quickly to all your emails.

Oscar is the actual Segway guide and he is excellent in his instructions. Plus he is funny and gives a great commentary of the places we visited while touring the beach front. And he keeps safety as paramount.

We ended at the Ciutadella Park before returning to the Segway office.
A note. They will send you a google map link for the meeting point. On this link you will see two Segway marks. One is the office. The other one is where you actually meet. It is in a park- The Graffiti Park of Barcelona, Jardin de les Tres Xemeies. So if you go to the park, you are in the right spot!

Their Segways seemed to be newer models. At least newer than the one we had in Bermuda last May.

Closest metro station there is Paral El. Meeting spot about a 5 minute walk.

Note to families though - We booked with Sun & Segway through Viator as the minimum age was... read more 12. However the legal age for segwaying has changed and there is a little confusion as to if the new minimum legal age is 14 or 16, either way we booked for ourselves and three kids of 15, 12 & 12. Since they were now too young our route was changed to keep under the radar. Bear that in mind if you are booking for under 16s, that being said - WE HAD A GREAT TIME
