Barcelona ’92 Segway Tour

  This is a trip just around the Ciutadella park. This was our first ride on Segway and the instructor / guide Mara really helped us to feel comfortable and get... read more to grips with it. This is a short very restricted ride around the park, but ideal if you havent experienced a segway before. Mara was fabulous. The booking was very easy and I actually did by contacting them through Whatsapp and is this is included in your Go City pass for Barcelona. This was time well spent.

  Best way to see the city. After a quick professional lesson you head out and about checking out so much of the city. Lots of fun!

The whole tour was really fun and exciting, and we really enjoyed ourselves immensely, particularly since we got to see so many places that would have been pretty far to reach on foot. My friend and I also appreciated that our Segway group was much smaller than the other groups we saw around, which was nice because we effectively had a private tour instead of trying to jostle for space near the guide. It was also a really smart idea to have us meet in the skateboarding park so that we had a good space to learn how to ride the Segway. All in all, very pleased with the experience and it was the highlight of our trip!

Oscar is very funny and friendly and immediately put us at ease & taught us how to ride confidently in a few minutes! He took us on an expert knowledgable tour of all the historic monuments, Beach, park and areas of the city we wanted to such as les rambles and port Olympia where we were going clubbing that evening.
He also offered us half the tour in the mountains, a more scenic route at no extra charge if we wanted, however we prefered just to go around the city. He took plenty of photos for us too.
A perfect excursion for any tourist, really helps you learn how to get around!
I cannot recommend enough - defo check it out, worth the money (only €42 pp when booked online at sun Segway tours)
The only thing I would say is the meeting point is at a skate park and there weren’t any signs up. We weren’t sure whether the tour was on but waited until 10am then Oscar arrived with his segways!

They let you practice first and you become very comfortable very quickly with using it. We had a girl guiding us who has red hair. I am so sorry that I can't pronounce your name. She is very friendly and very easy to talk to. We all really enjoyed the tour. You get to see the column, the marina, the old walls of Barca, the Arc de Triomphe, Gaudi's fountain, the big Elephant, El Born. We have another day in Barca today to see the big attractions. I'm glad I got to see the ones listed above as, it is my third visit to Barca and had not seen many of the those sites. I suppose I would call it, less well known Barca. A top tip, in winter months, make sure you wear warm clothes and GLOVES!!!!

I wrote to them the same morning that our cruise ship was... read more arriving in town. They responded immediately with availability and times. The times would not work for our schedule, so they were willing to create a time slot for us that worked... what great flexibility! The directions they sent were perfect - including a photo of the meeting point. When we showed the taxi driver the photo, he knew where it was and took us right there.

They met us right on time. Since it was off-schedule, we wound up with a private tour. We told Akram what we wanted to see, and he was super-willing to rearrange our itinerary to take us where we wanted to go.

We probably visited 10-12 different sites during the re-arranged tour. Akram was very knowledgeable about what we were looking at, andd was able to explain what we were seeing and why it was interesting in clear, easy-to-understand English. We never felt rushed, even when we randomly stopped to take pictures, despite his concern with basically, making up the tour route as we rode.

We didn't see more than a small bit of the cool stuff in Barcelona - when I return, I will use Barcelona Sun & Segway to check some more sites off my list. Both their customer service and the tour itself deserves 11 points on a scale of 10 :)

NOTE: My friend had never segway-ed before; I had a couple of times under my belt. Akram took the time to get us both up to speed. It's really easy (after the first 5 terrifying minutes). Once you're used to driving the Segway, it is second nature. And Barcelona has a lot of bicycle lanes, so we were able to zip through traffic.

  I can't recommend this place highly enough. We were 6 40something girls who quite honestly just fancied a go on a Segway. We popped in and booked the... read more tour a day before which was quick and easy and the lady who served us (sorry, we didn't get their names!) was helpful, and spoke English very well. We booked the shortest tour as we thought that'd be long enough but I would recommend the longer tours if you have the time. As we were first timers on a Segway the lady who took our tour met us around the corner and gave us some training. She was extremely patient and helpful and we soon got the hang of it.....it did take around 30 mins of our 1 hour session so bear that in mind when booking. The guide was patient, very helpful when crossing the roads etc and just altogether brilliant. We took in some sights and the Segways made it so much fun to get around. The 2 ladies that we dealt with were so helpful.....we had a problem with our bags that day as it was our last day and had to be out of our apartment and the ladies help us sort it all out with no drama at all and we can't thank them enough for everything. Good fun, excellent customer service and if we're in Barcelona again we'll be back there in a flash!
